About Me

Bella is a fourth-year student at Toronto Metropolitan University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Media with a 3.91 GPA. She is passionate about content creation, journalism, and marketing within the sports industry, and her diverse experiences reflect her dedication to these fields.

Bella’s professional journey includes serving as a Production Assistant for CBC/Radio-Canada during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, where she contributed to delivering high-quality coverage of the games. She also worked as a Contributing Writer for Over The Line Sports Canada, producing engaging and insightful sports content over nearly two years. Additionally, Bella hosted Unboxed Thoughts, a mental health and lifestyle radio show on SpiritLive Radio, where she was also part of the marketing team.

Her academic and professional achievements are complemented by her multilingual skills, including native or bilingual proficiency in English, working proficiency in French, and professional working proficiency in Filipino. These abilities, combined with her work ethic, allow Bella to navigate the dynamic and fast-paced sports media landscape effectively.

"I’ve realized the importance of mental health, especially as I navigated the balance between work, school, social life, and the new changes that come with this phase of life."

Mental health was not something Bella was taught to prioritize growing up, as it remained a taboo topic in her community. Since starting university, she has developed a deep understanding of its importance, especially as she balanced work, school, and life transitions. This awareness has made her more attuned to the pressures individuals face, particularly athletes navigating the demands of their sport. Through Behind The Medal, she aims to shed light on mental well-being within the athletic community, advocating for self-awareness and support that have become essential in her own life.
